Rima Al Shikh is a tech innovator, and entrepreneur, with 15+ years of experience, 3 startups founded, and a patent holder in decentralized machine learning for user-facing applications. As CEO of Begin AI, she utilizes artificial intelligence to tackle critical challenges like secure personalization across multiple applications and user behaviour prediction at scale

Alex Tushinski

Founder & CEO of Basestation

Alex Tushinski is the Founder & CEO of Basestation, a software solution for waste and recycling companies to manage their hauling operations. Basestation helps waste haulers with everything from scheduling routes and tracking assets to dispatching drivers and billing customers. Prior to Basestation, Alex worked in Corporate Development at GFL Environmental where he completed several acquisitions of companies in the waste management industry. Alex saw firsthand how smaller haulers had limited access to affordable, industry-specific software – and because of this, he left his job in the industry to start Basestation to build a more affordable and easier to use software for these smaller waste haulers.

Steffen Milner

Head of Swiss Business Hub Canada

The Swiss Business Hub Canada is the Montreal based representative of the official international trade and investment promotion agency Switzerland Global Enterprise (S-GE). It is responsible for informing Canadian companies about the advantages of locating or investing in Switzerland and also for implementing Swiss export strategies in Canada. On behalf of the Confederation, the hub works closely with regional and cantonal business development agencies. The Swiss Business Hub Canada provides support to all industries but offers specific expertise in the areas of Robotics, Personalized Health, AI, Life Sciences, Advanced Manufacturing and Fin tech.

Dr. Brett Belchetz

CEO & Co-Founder of Maple

Dr. Brett Belchetz is the CEO and Co-founder of Maple (getmaple.ca), Canada’s leading virtual care platform connecting patients and healthcare providers like doctors and therapists for online medical visits in minutes. He’s also an emergency room physician in Toronto, and a Senior Fellow at the Fraser Institute. In addition, Brett’s passion for healthcare communication and policy have led him to work as an on-air medical expert for large television stations in Canada, including CTV and Global News, as well as a contributor to outlets such as the National Post. Previously, Brett worked as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company.

Andrew John Leaman

VP of Fire & Defence Solutions at Longan Vision Corp.

The mission is to help save lives by developing advanced augmented reality technology to fit the needs of people working in dangerous environments. Their technology supports various use cases including mining, oil & gas, and first responders like firefighters. Their research and development has been sponsored partially by the Canadian Government via Innovation Solutions Canada funding.
