What's It About?

Success is not linear.  Even the most dynamic leaders experience challenges and setbacks. However, in those experiences, there is much lesson and opportunity to redefine our strategies and TechTO showcases the complexities that make the journey all of what it is.

TechTO is curated to bring you inspirational stories where you can learn practical tips from leaders who have dreamed, struggled, and ultimately persevered.  Our conversation with our guests  typically reviews their career journey, the early days of their company, lessons from scaling and a few fun personal questions.

Event Speakers

Carol Leaman

CEO of Axonify Inc.

Carol Leaman is the CEO of Axonify Inc., a disruptor in the corporate learning space and innovator behind the world’s first Frontline digital learning and execution platform—proven to drive employee knowledge, engagement and performance. Prior to Axonify, Carol was the CEO of PostRank Inc., a social engagement analytics company that she sold to Google in June 2011. Previously, Carol held CEO positions at several other technology firms, including RSS Solutions and Fakespace Systems. Carol is a frequent speaker on technology and entrepreneurship, and a regular contributor to leading business magazines. She also sits on the boards of many organizations, both charitable and for-profit, and advises a variety of high-tech firms in Canada.

Craig Follett

Co-founder & CEO of peggy.com

Craig is a serial entrepreneur. He is the Co-founder & CEO of peggy.com, the secure marketplace to buy and sell investment grade art. In times of societal crisis and turmoil throughout humanity, artists pave the way for social change and transformation. As an investment, art is among the only appreciating asset classes you can also enjoy (like real estate), plus is uncorrelated to traditional markets. This is why billionaires and banks seek out art as a safe haven to preserve wealth in their portfolios. Yet tragically, the rest of us are unable to participate in the art market, and support the practice of emerging artists who create transformative messages through their works. Peggy partners with galleries and artists, to make living with and investing in art accessible to all. Finally you can buy incredible art at a price you can afford, and can later sell to fellow collectors if your tastes change or you seek to rebalance your art investments. Core to our values, Peggy does good by the artists themselves, who can finally earn artist royalties for all future secondary sales as well - something they miss out on today. Peggy also has powerful benefits for galleries. This is all made possible using sophisticated and proprietary AI and ML which keeps buyers and sellers protected without the need for the antiquated and opaque Auction House model. Prior to Peggy, Craig and his same Co-founder & CTO together founded universe.com - the social marketplace for events. Universe was acquired by Live Nation Entertainment NYSE:LYV (Ticketmaster) in 2015. Following the acquisition, Craig grew the business by 30x (and team by 3x), and expanded to UK, Europe, Australia and Asia before leaving the company in 2019. Craig is an angel investor, advisor, and/or board member at companies including ada.cx + ca.la + guild.host + freshline.io and a Limited Partner in multiple VC funds. Craig is a classically trained software engineer and business analyst, with hands on experience at BCG, Credit Suisse and in product development and software engineering roles. While at Credit Suisse's technology investment banking group, Craig advised tech companies on M&A and corporate finance, based out of San Francisco. At BCG, Craig advised tech companies on strategy & operations, in Canada, US, Italy and Austria. He is an avid rock climber (competed in the Canadian Bouldering Nationals), amateur surfer, aspiring author, and artist at heart.
