Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary of Roots
At Roots I lead a department that includes Sustainability, Integration and Reporting, Quality and Assurance, Compliance, Corporate Governance and General Counsel. I serve as a member of the Executive Team and report to the President & CEO. I chair the Operating Council at Roots and am a member of the Diversity Equity Equality and Inclusion Committee and the Disclosure Committee. I also currently serve as the executive sponsor to the Human Resources department. I thrive in collaborative high-stakes environments and have a keen eye to setting priorities and identifying risks and opportunities in strategic pursuits and operating teams. I am passionate about building great teams that pride themselves on problem solving, creativity and enjoying the process. I started my career with Roots in 2016 as Senior Director, Legal Affairs and have led a variety of functions and initiatives since that time including Real Estate, Risk Management and Brand Protection and Intellectual Property Management. Prior to joining Roots, I practiced corporate and commercial law with a focus on public and private mergers & acquisitions at White & Case LLP in New York, New York and Stikeman Elliott LLP in Toronto, Ontario. I hold a Doctor of Laws (JD) from Cornell Law School and an Honours Business Administration (HBA) from The Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.

Senior Manager, Product Marketing at Roots
Kelly Brawn leads the product marketing team at Roots. With a decade of experience in brand strategy and communications for retail, Kelly has dedicated her focus to helping brands conduct market research and create go-to-market strategies for current and future initiatives. Before joining Roots, Kelly served as the VP Marketing at Sampler, an omnichannel digital sampling solution. There, she helped to develop and implement Sampler’s B2B2C brand voice through the creation and amplification of full-funnel customer journeys. She has played an integral role in helping win industry awards as well as secure press coverage from top publishers like TechCrunch and Ad Age. Prior to Sampler, Kelly led Marketing and Communications at luxury footwear brand TKEES.
